What can your dissertation become?
Journal article
A formal research paper published in an academic journal, usually peer-reviewed, presenting original research findings, analysis, or a literature review.
Book chapter
A scholarly contribution published as a chapter within an edited academic book, focusing on a specific topic or research theme.
Conference poster / presentation
A summary of research shared at an academic or professional conference, either as a presentation or a visual poster, to communicate findings and engage with an academic audience.
Internal publication
A research output published within NCL by the RC (e.g., article, working paper, findings of research report, or reflections) to showcase scholarship and share findings with the internal NCL community.
Who is eligible?
All NCL current or former students: MA, BA Top-Up, FDA, HND.
All NCL staff, including academic and professional members of staff.
How the mentoring works
- Express interest
- Initial review by the Research Centre
- Draft development plan agreed with supervisor (where relevant)
- Submission pathway identified (journal / chapter / conference)
